Privacy Policy

Gallopa ("the app", "we", "us") is built by Hypecent Limited for horse riders. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. We have designed Gallopa to keep your data on your device wherever possible.

Information we handle

Location data. When you record a ride, the app uses your device's GPS to map your route and calculate distance, speed, elevation and your time in each gait. Your ride history, including routes, is stored locally on your device. It is not uploaded to us unless you explicitly share a ride.
Ride videos (AI coaching). The AI coach is optional. Only when you choose a video and start an analysis is that video uploaded to our secure cloud storage (Google Firebase) and sent to Google's Gemini AI model, which generates the technique feedback. The video is used only to produce your analysis.
Health and motion data. If you track a ride on Apple Watch, the app uses HealthKit to record heart rate and your workout route, and uses device motion to help detect gaits. This data is stored with the ride. Gallopa does not sell or share your health data, and HealthKit data is never used for advertising.
Account. Gallopa signs you in anonymously through Firebase Authentication so your coaching requests work. This does not require your name, email or any personal identifier.
Diagnostics and usage. We use Firebase Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the app is used so we can improve it. This does not identify you personally.

How we use information

We use the information above only to provide and improve the app's features: tracking your rides, detecting your gaits, generating AI coaching feedback, and keeping the app reliable. We do not sell your personal information.

Service providers

We rely on Google Firebase (authentication, cloud storage, cloud functions and analytics) and Google's Gemini AI model to provide the coaching feature. Your use of these features is also subject to Google's privacy practices, described at policies.google.com/privacy. Apple HealthKit data is governed by Apple's privacy terms and stays under your control on your device and in your Apple account.

Data retention

Your rides and analyses are stored on your device and remain until you delete them in the app. Videos uploaded for AI coaching are retained only as long as needed to generate and deliver your analysis, and are removed on a routine basis afterwards. You can delete any analysis, along with its stored video, from within the app at any time.

Your choices and rights

You control location and HealthKit access through your device's Settings, and can revoke them at any time. Some features will not work without the permissions they need.
You can delete individual rides and coaching analyses directly in the app.
You can request deletion of any data associated with you by contacting us at the address below.

Children

Gallopa is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app.
